Local teen starts fundraiser for JFS food pantry

Leyna Fleischaker, a teenage volunteer whose dedication to JFS earned her an award from Second Harvest Food Bank last year, went above and beyond yet again when the COVID-19 outbreak began.

She started a fundraiser on her Instagram for the Community Food Pantry, pledging to add $5 to her initial $50 donation for every share by her followers and encouraging others to donate as well. Through this initiative, she raised $780, which enabled JFS to make a large purchase of fresh eggs from a local farmer for pantry clients.

Thank you, Leyna!
