Jewish Family Service has been working for months to bring exciting new programs to Country Meadows residents. When some Jewish and non-Jewish residents expressed a desire to learn more about Jewish culture, we teamed up with Temple Beth El in Allentown to give eight residents a synagogue tour full of information about Jewish history and ritual life.
Temple Beth El’s Cantor Kevin Wartell and executive director Michelle Rohrbach welcomed eight residents of Country Meadows to the synagogue earlier today. Cantor Wartell took them on a tour of the synagogue and told stories of Jewish history in the world and in Allentown before introducing Jewish concepts like mitzvot and the Torah. He left plenty of time for asking questions, and the residents, half of whom were Jewish, enjoyed learning more about Jewish culture.
